At A-ma Temple 媽閣廟, Macau. Temple dedicated to Mazu 媽祖, goddess of seafarers, sailors, and fishermen.

nara奈良 and the roaming deer
we rent bikes and ride around the city where the deer roam free.
we lunch on things leaf-wrapped and raw. 
we eat while a gang of panhandling, god-sent, japanese deer encircle our position.
we visit todai-ji 東大寺, a buddhist temple built in 752 AD.
we meet the shadowy komokuten 廣目天/광목천. one of the four heavenly kings and ruler of the west.
outside the great buddha hall 大仏殿 we find pindola 賓頭盧 but we refrain from trying his healing powers. from the late edo period.
night falls and we head over to a restaurant for fishcake (오뎅 おでん). 
then tea and tiny japanese deserts.

from anpyeong over jangsan to dalmaji
traveled to anpyeong in northeastern busan on an automated train.
countryside. greeted by puppies.
road to jangsan.
old mound graves of ancient koreans hidden under crusty leaves.
found a temple and its guardians in the wilderness. 안적사.
counted the steps. they were not 108.
found the croissant-shaped egg sacs of the korean salamander
and the spring batch of other amphibians.
saw men and women foraging for spring snacks in the short grass. 쑥 mugwort.
saw the boulder fields of jangsan and the towers of dalmaji.
